How to Stop Saved-Search Digest Emails

Unsubscribe from saved-search digest emails, or turn off email for a single saved search while keeping the rest. You can do this from the email itself or from your account settings.

Before You Begin

You will need either:

  • A recent saved-search digest email, or
  • Access to your Wire account settings at https://wire.pluckyworks.org/settings/

You do not need to be signed in to use the unsubscribe link in an email.

Instructions

Unsubscribe from a Digest Email

Warning

Unsubscribing from a digest email stops all saved-search digest emails, not just the search that prompted you to unsubscribe. Your saved searches themselves are kept. You can turn digests back on later from your account settings.

  1. Open a recent saved-search digest email and click the unsubscribe link.

    Some email programs, including Gmail and Apple Mail, also show their own Unsubscribe control near the sender's name. Either one works.

  2. On the page that opens, headed Stop saved-search digest emails?, click Confirm unsubscribe.

  3. Confirm you see You're unsubscribed.

Turn Off Digest Emails in Account Settings

Use this route if you no longer have a digest email to hand, or if the link in your email has expired.

  1. Open your account settings at https://wire.pluckyworks.org/settings/.

  2. Go to the Email Preferences section.

  3. Turn off Saved-search digest emails.

Use this route to keep getting digests, but drop one search from them.

  1. Go to the Search page at https://wire.pluckyworks.org/search/.

  2. Click the pencil icon next to Save this search in the Filter panel.

    The icon is small and faint. Hover over it to confirm it reads Manage saved searches.

  3. Find the saved search and untick Email me when new content matches.

    The change saves as soon as you untick it.

What Happens Next

  • Wire stops sending saved-search digest emails from the next scheduled send onward. A digest already being prepared when you unsubscribe may still arrive.
  • Your saved searches are kept. You can still open and re-run every one of them in Wire.
  • The per-search Email me when new content matches settings are kept too, so turning digests back on restores your previous selection rather than starting from scratch.
  • Nobody else at your Outlet or Group is affected. These settings apply only to you.

To start receiving digests again, turn Saved-search digest emails back on in your account settings.

Troubleshooting

  • "This unsubscribe link isn't valid": Unsubscribe links expire. Open your most recent digest email and use the link there, or turn digests off in your account settings instead. See Turn Off Digest Emails in Account Settings.

  • I clicked unsubscribe and still got one more email: A digest already in preparation when you unsubscribed can still be delivered. If emails continue past that, check that Saved-search digest emails is off in your account settings.

  • I only wanted to stop one search: Turn Saved-search digest emails back on in your account settings, then untick the individual search. See Stop Email for One Saved Search.

  • I can't find the unsubscribe link in the email: Look at the foot of the digest. If your email program hides long messages, expand the message first, or use your account settings instead.
