How to Join a Group

This guide covers how to join a Group after you've created your Plucky Wire account and joined an Outlet.

Typical Flow

  1. Log in to your Plucky Wire account.

  2. From your Dashboard, click Join a Content Sharing Group.

  3. On the Groups page, find the group you want to join. You can search by name or use the filters.

  4. Click Join or Apply to Join.

    • If the button says Join, you'll be added immediately after accepting the terms.
    • If the button says Apply to Join, the group's Owners and Moderators will review your request. You'll receive an email when it's approved.

  5. Confirm which Outlet you want to represent in this Group.

  6. Review and accept the Group's content license agreement and Plucky Wire Terms of Service.

  7. Click Complete Signup.

If a group administrator shared a signup link with you:

  1. Log in to your Plucky Wire account.

  2. Click the signup link.

  3. Select which outlet you want to represent (if you belong to multiple outlets).

  4. Review and accept the terms.

  5. Click Complete Signup.

Next Steps

After joining a group, you can browse, upload, and download stories shared by other outlets in the group.

Troubleshooting

  • I don't see a Join button: Make sure your outlet verification is complete. The Join button only appears for verified outlets.

  • My signup link doesn't work: Contact the group administrator and ask them to send a new one.

  • I don't see the group I'm looking for: Some groups are private. Contact the group administrator for a signup link.

  • My application is still pending: Contact the group using the email shown on their profile page.

  • I joined with the wrong outlet: Contact a group administrator to switch your outlet association.
